Humans: The Fundamental Problem #1

Information Dissemination

I've been in a club for some time now, a club which I considered the best in MMU, maybe its because I've no life, maybe its because its really the best, or maybe Its because of the clique of friends there.

Then came this day where the club's camera tripod was apparently stolen. and I'm the last person seen handling it.

Now the problem.

There is now a new tripod. When I came in the next day I saw the tripod, and thought "oh, they found it" But no, it was a new one, as I mentioned earlier. I didn't know about it, no one told me about, and I got to know it just a few minutes ago by ACCIDENT involving someone borrowing the club's camera without most of the members knowing about it.

Who else knows that the tripod was stolen? unless they were present when someone found it missing, I very much doubt that they would have known.

Is it because humans like to keep information to themselves? would we be happier not knowing? ignorance is bliss right? and now I might be suspected by some of the members.

Normally I wouldn't have gave a damn. But these are the people I considered friends. They're closer to me than my whole family had ever been. It hurts.

Too many things are handled by the authorities of an organisation. The members knows shit. The authorities too don't think the members should know anything because they are not fundamental to the decisions the authorities will make.

That's why the rich get richer while the poor gets poorer.

I hate going into depression mode. I does no good to me, I'll just think about all the wrongs in the world and how I wouldn't give a damn in my normal state of mind.

Specialisation

Is this going to help the human race as a whole. True, we can acomplish our jobs faster, be more efficient was it comes to handling stuff related to our line of specialisation, know tons of techinical stuff about what we do.

so what is specialisation gotta do with information dissemination?

Example: Mind your own business.

Good enough?

I'm not going to be able to sleep tonight.

ah...human beings...

people always look for someone else to blame, and when it's something that's vitally important to them, they somehow just assume that it's the person that's closest to guilty. We assume too much, and because of our own backgrounds, things often heat up and we start to realise the truth of our perceptions of others and also the truth in the perceptions of others towards us.

Trust is something that has never been gained easily among humans. We say we trust each other but when it comes down to the truth there are still things that can bring us apart. I accomodate this great divide between humans being the cause of our social norms. Why? Suspicion. But this is not a pure suspicion, it's the type of suspicion that a person applies when he's looking with the eyes of prejudice and malice behind them. Unlike investigators that have little biased views on strangers, we're dealing with close friends that practically almost know us inside out. Thus, any little detail could spring a reason of prejudice against us and vice versa.

What's the problem? Oh, you might say nothing's the matter. We just wait for the culprit to turn up or be found by the authorities, but in our hearts we think and suspect things about people without much fact or thought. It's a problem of communication within the group that matters. Why, when you say he's your friend, do you credit him towards an incident without hearing him out first?

Something to ponder about.

I agree with you about the information dissemination problem...Its like everything that you want to know. Have to find out for yourself by asking the right people. But i realize that there is a problem. For example lets say that i know about this things like you say, am i expected to tell everyone what i know? Or am i suppose to wait for people to ask before i tell them.

Wouldn't it seem like i'm a gossiper or a manipulative bastard who goes around finding out stuff for myself, then instead of keeping my mouth shut, go around telling everyone stuff they are suppose to know?

And what authorities are you talking about? I only see Adrian and Wei Cheng in the room most of the time nowadays...not like they act like good ones. In the end, they still are play a bigger part as students and friends rather than your boss
: )

I've been asking for admin to be dissolve and put those jobs under sigma and nexus. For better information dissemination...I hope...

Darling, you were not in the room when they are looking for the tripod. and it is not something people will go gossiping around. About information dissemination, I think you have got to actively source for these things, and not wait for them to come to you. A parellel example will be your daily news. Owh,and do not complain about the management when you are one and have authority to do something about it,eg hold meetings and involve everyone in it. Ditto with your dirty green cup, that is part of management dear Alex.

HR... I already stated that people are unlikely to know of the missing tripod if they were not in the room.

It's not about "gossiping". its about asking people like "we lost our tripod, keep your eyes open ok?" its not the same as some other random stuff happening. This is important.

I can't write much right now because again, in my current state I don't bloody care about this issue. Wait till I get depressed and you'll see a long post again. hah.
